Andy Turner has been the Club Professional at Knaresborough Golf Club since October 2008. Andy, born and bred in Knaresborough, is a former Junior Captain at Knaresborough Golf Club.

He commenced his professional career at Oakdale Golf Club and then returned to Knaresborough where he qualified as a PGA professional. He then pursued a successful career as a tournament professional where he competed on the British, South African and European tours. Andy also spent 2 years coaching in Zurich, Switzerland where he shone as a first class teacher. During his career Andy has not only had extensive training in golf technique but also in golf pyschology and physical conditioning for golf. Andy now enjoys passing on his skills and experience to all levels of golfers at Knaresborough Golf Club.

Graeme and James assist Andy in the golf shop. Graeme is training to be a professional and is showing huge potential as a player and coach. James is learning about club professional's work whilst studying sports science at York St. John's university.

The shop has recently been completely refurbished, is stocked with all the major brands and is open to everyone. It is also a Ping and Titleist custom fit facility.  Major clothing brands for 2009 are Footjoy, Addidas, Galvin Green, Greg Norman, Stromberg trousers, Lyle and Scott, Glenmuir and Sunderland. The equipment in the shop is very competitively priced and Andy will always endeavour to match or beat the best available price. Lessons are available to all ages and abilities all year round. Andy has recently installed an indoor teaching studio incorporating video analysis using the gasp system.
