A week in the life of greens (6-9 Nov 2018)

Tuesday

Greens swished, tee markers moved, bunkers raked.

All tees and greens bankings cut. Fairways completed. Practice ground cut.

Animal repair work.

Machinery maintenance carried out.

Leaf blowing, collection and mulching –as usual.

 

Wednesday

Greens swished, tee markers moved, bunkers raked

10 trees removed from the 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th. All debris removed and burned in the railway cutting.

Gangmowers stripped down in prep for full service.to be carried out in-house.

Leaf blowing, collection and mulching –as usual.

 

Thursday

Greens swished, tee markers moved,

Debris removed from all greens and bunkers with backpack blowers

Toro 4500 rough mower broke down. Strip down revealed collapsed bearings on rear left cutting unit. Machine out of action until new parts arrive.

Chainsaw parts collected.

Green approaches and surrounds cut.

 

Friday

Weekend preparations start.

All greens cut from left to right!

Apparently this process, cutting in one direction one time, followed by opposite direction on the next cutting day (an overall Union Jack cut over 4 cuts) will hopefully discourage weed growth.

Holes cut and hole savers added.

All summer tees divoted.

Divot bins at the clubhouse and 12th tee filled. Please get in to the habit of using these- as per the Greens Chairman’s e mail about winter golf.

Course bins emptied. Ball washers filled.

Leaves removed from bunkers with backpack blowers, then raked.

GUR lines re-done

New chain brakes fitted to chainsaws

Afternoon devoted to leaf blowing, collection and mulching –as usual.

Head Green keeper meeting with Manager and Greens Chairman.
