Clubhouse UpdateJune 3, 2019
The refurbishment work is very close to completion with just the curtains in the former dining room to be fitted. This should be in the next week.
The old cabinet that supported the coffee machine has been retired from service and a new purpose-built cabinet installed in its place. The new cabinet is colour co-ordinated with the decor with a resilient wipe-clean top and looks so much smarter than the old unit.
It has been decided to purchase removable chair covers for the metal framed banquet chairs that we occasionally put into service. It is anticipated that these chairs will be used more often and the covers will ensure that the chairs will tone better with the new furniture and decor.
For a similar reason, good quality acrylic/linen table cloths will be put into use on the old tables. Samples of both of these products have been tried out before purchase. Pictured is the room set up for our first post-refurb wedding on Friday.
The maintenance work list has been reviewed and a budget for spend for the rest of 2019 and into 2020 has been prepared. This will be presented to management committee for approval. It is expected that the main maintenance project for the year will be painting the exterior woodwork and steelwork and replacing the service doors to the year, subject to obtaining satisfactory estimates.
The external of the clubhouse will soon be enhanced by hanging baskets and our continued gratitude goes to Dee and her dedicated helpers who keep the front gardens looking so good.
