Fantastic Founders’ Day Sketch on YouTube nowJanuary 29, 2020
In case you'd missed it, 2020 marks 100 years since KGC's first year in existence. December 19th 2019 was the actual day on which the papers were signed, the preamble to which saw a group of pioneering souls meeting up at Arthur Kitching's house to agree the way forward.
Those who attended KGC's Founders' Day celebrations on December 19th 2019, were treated to Harrogate Dramatic Society's brilliant rendition of long term member Mike McKay's excellent sketch. For those who weren't there, you can now read the sketch here or watch it on our dedicated YouTube channel here.
On behalf of all at the Club, thanks to Mike for yet again putting his shoulder to the wheel and dedicating himself to the cause. It's a wonderful play and a terrific way of helping us visualise the way events might have unfolded. And thanks to Harrogate Dramatic Society for their performance.
While we're on the subject, if you'd like to know more about the Club's history, grab yourself a copy of "Picking the Stones" by (you've guessed it) Mike McKay. Available for just a tenner from the KGC office or bar.
