First to 100 stableford points was…

...Steve Watson, who finished his third round of the day with a four foot putt to reach the target. With three holes of the round remaining, it was neck and neck, with both Graham Oxley and Steve needing to secure six more points each. Graham, who'd been getting better and better all day, had crept up on Steve and was threatening to take the prize from the (very)long time leader. But a "blob" on 16 and another on 17 saw him still 6 away, while Steve had reduced his target to needing a par 4 three pointer on the last.

So, having set off on their gentle stroll some thirteen hours earlier, the weary group had done it, bolstering the coffers of the Centenary Fund and having a lot of fun in the process. Thanks from the four players to their supporters and various caddies on the day, and to all those who put their hands in their pockets to enter a bet on the outcome. Incidentally, this was won by Nigel Saville, who will now be the recipient of a box of balls and a trip to Seaton Carew...a nice birthday present to celebrate him recently embarking on his seventh decade (sorry Nigel).
